And you can apply the pack to any variant, too.

Polestar Celebrates WTCC Win With S60,V60 Special Editions

Over the weekend, Polestar Cyan Racing managed to clinch the title of the Team World Champions at the World Touring Car Championship’s final race in Qatar, with Swede Then Björk at the wheel. With the win, he also managed to clinch the title of the first-ever Swede to become a WTCC world champion, and it’s a point of pride for both Polestar and Björk, for obvious reasons.

And to celebrate the historic win, Polestar has released commemorative editions of the Volvo S60 and the V60, dubbed the ‘World Champion Editions.’ On top of that, the World Champion treatment can be applied to any engine in the range, meaning you can get a bundle of Polestar optimisation parts for a D4, D5, T5 or T6 engine.

“The engineers from Polestar and Cyan Racing have worked collaboratively on engineering developments for existing Polestar road cars for many years. It’s therefore fitting that we celebrate the remarkable achievement of securing our maiden World Championship by adding more performance to the cars that have been so instrumental this season.” — Christian Samson, Product Development, Polestar

The Performance by Polestar programme is comprehensive to say the least, and allows Volvo customers to pick and chose the various aspects of their car that they’d like to improve. With the World Champion pack, it bundles in things like 19-inch alloys, free-flow stainless-steel exhausts, an upgraded air filter, and improved dampers and springs for further improved driving dynamics.

Power optimisation will bump power and torque just a little bit, while it makes more noticeable changes to the transmission mapping and the acceleration response. Aesthetically, you’ll notice the 19-inch alloys we mentioned earlier, though there’s also a more noticeable rear spoiler and rear diffuser also vying for your attention.

When Polestar isn’t busy playing with and fettling Volvos, it’s had a go at making its own car, which we rather like. You can read more about the Polestar 1 here.
