Peugeot Australia has started local testing of its e-HDI 1.6-litre diesel with auto stop/start technology ahead of its upcoming launch in 508 and 308 models.
The results have been surprising and obvious thanks to a timer in the dashboard display which shows how long the engine has been switched off.
Peugeot promotions chief Kirin Tipping endures a 70-minute commute each day from her home in Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the corproate HQ in Homebush and has regularly recorded ‘engine stopped times ‘ of 15-minutes each way – that’s more than 20 per cent of th total journey time.
