Peugeot showcased the talents of its Shanghai, China based design team when it unveiled the SXC concept compact SUV and the Shanghai Motor Show.
Employing a 160kW, 1.6-litre internal combustion engine to drive the front wheels and a 70kW electric motor to drive the rear wheels, the Peugeot SXC (Shanghai Cross Concept) is a relatively large-size compact SUV (or ‘Crossover’) with a wheelbase of 4.870-metres.
And its contemporary, powerful looks are a real credit to the French brand’s Peugeot Style Studios located in the China Tech center in Shanghai. The Peugeot SXC concept features a precise, chiseled front-end, softened by dynamic-looking headlights and the prominent Peugeot ‘lion’ emblem.
Tapered housings outside mount the rear-view cameras, there are 22-inch alloy wheels, a two-part panoramic roof and reverse-hinged doors to provide easy access to the voluminous interior.
With a good-looking concept car like this on the books, plus the outstanding RCZ sports car no on-sale, mark-down Peugeot on your “Must Watch” list – there are great things coming.
