Peugeot has launched the station wagon version of its stylish 308 hatchback. Innovatively called the ‘308 SW’, the newcomer continues Peugeot’s current handsome styling theme.
Designed at the same time and by the same team responsible for the Peugeot 308 hatchback, the 308 SW runs an extra 11cm in the wheelbase and 22cm in the rear overhang but still delivers the balance and fluidity of looks highlighted by the hatchback.
Yet despite its small car dimensions, the Peugeot 308 SW provides a handy 660-litres of cargo space with all seats in-place or a massive 1,660-litres when folded flat.
Inside, the SW mirrors the Peugeot 308 hatchback with a tall centre console and 9.7-inch touchscreen.
Like the hatchback, the estate version of the Peugeot 308 weighs-in 140kgs heavier than its predecessor and they share the PSA Group’s EMP2 modular platform.
In Europe, the Peugeot 308 SW is being offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, including 81kW and 96kW versions of Peugeot’s new turbocharged three-cylinder petrol powerplants.
Technology is impressive and includes Dynamic Cruise Control, Emergency Collision Alert System and Emergency Collision Braking.
