Peugeot has rounded-out its excellent 308 hatchback range with the addition of sporty GT models available with turbocharged petrol or diesel engines and priced from $41,990.
In addition a new 110kW/240Nm turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine – developed in co-operation with BMW - is now available for range-topping Allure hatchback and Touring (wagon) models.
The newcomers join the existing 96kW/230Nm turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine which powers the entry-level Access model.
The GT models arrive with lowered sports suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, upgraded interior and a signature colour called ‘Magnetic Blue’.
Peugeot equips the 308 GT with either a 151kW/285Nm 1.6-litre petrol engine driving through a six-speed manual transmission or a 133kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel driving through a six-speed sequential automatic with paddle-shifters.
Equipment levels for the 308 GT are impressive – including the 18-inch alloys, sports suspension, unique instruments, satellite navigation, GT head-up display and a 9.7-inch touchcrseen.
