Peugeot’s nicely-styled 3008 crossover goes on-sale locally in June and arrives with a swag of European awards.
Named 2009 ‘Car Of The Year’ by Britain’s What Car? magazine, the 3008 has also picked up the AUTOREVUE AWARD in Austria and Italy’s Auto Europe 2010.
Power comes from either two 1.6-litre diesels, a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol or a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol. The two diesels are joint developments with BMW and deliver fuel consumption as low as 4.9l/100kms.
Externally, the 3008 provides a nice blend of traditional SUV appearance with a low window line and cab-forward stature plus normal Peugeot curves around the front and rear. Wheels are 16-inch alloys.
The split-fold rear tailgate opens below the bumper line for easy access to the cargo area. Cargo capacity is 512 litres and the load area boasts a height-adjustable floor for extra convenience.
Peugeot Australia will announce local specifications and pricing closer to launch.
