SsangYong has jettisoned its ‘diesel-only’ mantra with the launch of a petrol-engined version of the competent Korando compact SUV.
Priced from $23,990 ‘Driveaway’, the 2.0-litre petrol SsangYong Korando S makes great buying – in fact it’s more than $2,000 under the equivalent diesel model. That price is for a six-speed manual model – the six-speed automatic carries a $25,990 sticker.
Under the hood, SsangYong’s 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine is good for 109kW/191Nm and returns combine cycle fuel consumption of 6.2l/100kms (manual).
