From Port Melbourne to Paris – this is the hatchback version of the Holden (General Motors) Cruze.
Designed an built locally by Holden, the Paris Show concept car is a sibling of the Korean-built Holden Cruze sedan).
It’s virtually a production car as Holden will commence assembly of both the Cruze sedan and hatchback at its Adelaide plant next year - for sale here and in export markets. Depending on the destination, the Aussie-built Cruze could carry the badge of several GM brands – Chevrolet, Vauxhall or Opel.
Holden’s Design Studio is one of only three in the General Motors world with the capability of designing and building prototype concept vehicles.
“Our brief was to create an alternative body style to the traditional sedan that retained the same dynamic proportions that has made the Cruze such a success around the world,” revealed Holden Chief Designer Richard Ferlazzo. “We are very proud of the result which will be tailored further for the Australian market and given an appearance consistent with the rest of the Holden portfolio next year,”
