Pagani Teases Huayra Roadster, Again

Pagani is insisting that a consistent, slow-drip of dark photographs of obscure details will make the world go bananas about its upcoming Huayra Roadster, which will premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March.

In this latest photo, the engine is teased where previously the car’s rear lights and part of the new car’s nose were shown.

We are excited to see what the low-volume supercar manufacturer has in store, especially since company founder Horacio Pagani is touting it being much more, stylistically, than a roofless (hence, Roadster) version of car that’s been around since 2012.

The Roadster will have a more aggressive shape over the coupe, which today still seems far to fanciful to actually be road-legal. Pagani is pushing those extremes out further, it seems, with this being “the most complicated project we have ever undertaken", according to Horacio himself.

Exterior design aside, we have little to speculate on with regards to the car’s suspension and aerodynamics. Technically, though, the Huayra Roadster should be fitted with same bespoke M158 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 made by Mercedes-Benz performance arm AMG as seen in the coupe.

If that’s the case, the 544kW and 100Nm power and torque figure should remain relatively static. Given that Pagani has a history of making their roofless versions lighter, it’s possible that some measure of weight reduction will be in play, with the teased styling changes serving a solid aerodynamic purpose.
