Pagani, makers of ultra-exclusive supercars, has teased a new car that will be unveiled at the upcoming at the Monterey Car Week held annually, specifically at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
By the looks of it, it’s an open-top roadster version of the track-focused Huayra BC, neatly covered with a form-fitting tarp that obscures most of its body. The second picture revealed a bit more of the car, which doesn’t differ much from the original BC.
That description would match expectations, especially how an occasionally roofless Huayra was already spotted doing laps around the Nurburgring months ago. Pagani also says that the mysterious new car presented “a tremendous science and design challenge”, which has us curious to the exact nature of the changes made.
Thanks to it lacking a roof and the structural rigidity provided by its carbon fibre and titanium construction, a roadster version of Huayra BC would be legitimately lighter than the coupe. Though, how fits into it requiring innovations in science and design is this puzzling.
Power is expected to come from the same 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 sourced designed and built through cooperation with AMG, which in the regular Huayra BC generates 555kW and 1100Nm, sent through the rear wheels via a 7-speed automated sequential transmission.
Naturally, being a Pagani, and a high end one at that, only a handful of examples will ever be made. The series run for original Huayra BC only produced 20 examples and we expect the Roadster to be as exclusive.
