Is that a roof scoop? Is that a Huayra R?

Pagani has released a teaser video showing what looks to be a new and barelit lit version of its Huayra supercar.

Yes, we know this is a Huayra and that at least some parts of its exterior is blue. That about sums up the entirety of what we know to be fact about whatever is being teased here.

Judging by that scoop seen in the video, which is reminiscent of the Zonda R’s roof-mount air intake, a defining feature of the most most extreme (or one of) among the many special versions of the Huayra’s predecessor, the Pagani Zonda.

Make your own mind up about what changes could be read into the selective bits of bodywork we were deemed worthy to gaze upon by the small Modena-based manufacturer of very fast and very expensive vehicles.

Assuming this could be our first glimpses of a Pagani Huayra R (try saying that five times quickly), its performance figures must be properly monumental, handily topping the recently unveiled Huayra BC – a car that packs 20hp more than the base Huayra (totalling 559kW) from its AMG-developed 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 and a body that, while looking familiar, had been almost entirely been altered to reduce weight and improve downforce.

Then again, the Huayra BC was a road legal machine. If Pagani is following up their Zonda R with the Huayra R, we expect it to be too loud, too extereme, and too low to be allowed on public roads, just like its predecessor.
