Pagani set to unveil their exclusive Huayra Roaster to the deep-pocketed set later this year.
The Pagani Huayra is a supercar that was launched in 2012 as a successor to the Pagani Zonda. Seems like those four years just flew by, as the twin-turbo V12 collection of impossible surfaces remains fresh in the mind.
Ever since, the world of automotive observers have wondered when the small Italian manufacturer will come up with an open-top version to better enjoy that tuned turbocharged soundtrack.
They’ve clearly taken their time, and if these smoke signals are to be believed, Pagani is choosing this year’s Monterey Car Week in August, known to attract the highest end of the motoring spectrum of owners, collectors, and manufacturers.
There, prior to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance toward the tail end of the Monterey Car Week, Pagani is said to have its possibly-named Huayra Roadster on display at The Quail. It’s an event that last year hosted the debut of the Lamborghini Aventador SV.
Various reports suggest that potential customers, those in the brand’s good books, have been given early access to the car, resulting in 75 units of the initial 100 unit run have been pre-sold.
No word yet on how many units Pagani is planning on making in total, but since Pagani is known for its near-continuous rollout of many permuntations of their Zonda, his Huayra Roadster will most likely not be the first of many more special editions.
We’re not expecting any changes to the Huayra’s engine, so the Roadster should share the same 6.0-litre 544kW twin-turbo V12 developed by Mercedes-AMG.
