First issue under new ownership.
German marque Opel, recently in the news following GM’s sale of the brand to French conglomerate Groupe PSA, is preparing a new concept car that will show the brand’s focus for the future under its new stewards. Little is known about the concept, sans its light signature and the use of what appears to be an illuminated badge, though plenty of intelligent guesses are abound.
At the brands’ Tech Day recently, Opel design boss Mark Adams briefly flashed an image of the upcoming car, revealing a sleek set of headlights and a floating, illuminated badge. It actually looks rather a lot like the Opel GT concept back from 2016, a link that Opel themselves are keen to highlight.

“Later this year, in the coming months we are going to be showing that as an expression of truly what we want our brand to be. But I’ll save that for another day. The GT concept was really an expression of our core values, of the design that we wanted to capture but done in a very progressive, bold way. That is something we still want to do going forwards.” — Mark Adams, Vice President (Design), Opel
There’s a possibility that the new concept car will make its debut at the upcoming Paris motor show, though thus far there company has yet to confirm its attendance. Stay tuned to CarShowroom as we bring you more updates as they come.
