Ahead of its planned debut in Bangkok on February 7th, Ford is teasing their high performance Ranger Raptor once again. The video itself, as we understand, was first uploaded for the Thai audience to enjoy before being more widely spread.
If you’ve been following the lead up this upcoming reveal, you’ll definitely recognise many of the same scenes that were shot during the truck’s testing phase in the Australian outback, previously released. Here, though, there are some new shots to enjoy as it ploughs through mud and bounces undaunted over some rough terrain.
We’ll know more about the the Ranger Raptor once the veil comes down in Bangkok, but for now what we can say is that it will likely be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine from Ford’s EcoBlue family, producing a power figure that’s higher than the 147kW/470Nm output delivered from the current Ranger Wildtrak’s 3.2-litre 5-cylinder.
Drive, naturally, will be channeled to all-four wheels via the company’s new 10-speed automatic transmission - the same used in the F-150 Raptor and 2018 Mustang - and will use all manner of serious suspension enhancements to make it potent both on and off-road. Ride height will be markedly increased as well, along with the general visual improvements as befits a product from Ford Performance.
