Nissan has updated their popular Navara pick-up for 2017, roughly two years following the third-generation D23 that arrived in locally in 2015. It comes
First of all, it’s officially called the Navara now, ditching the ‘NP300’ prefix it once had, and comes packed with more convenience and technology feature, and finally new or improved suspension components.
Starting with that final point, variants fitted the 5-link coil-spring rear suspension will benefit from an enhanced tune with revised front and rear shocks as well as revised rear rebound dampers that Nissan say improves lateral stability, especially when carrying cargo or towing.
There’s now a reversing camera, LED headlamps and daytime running lights too. Double Cab ST models will also receive in-built satellite navigation as standard, meanwhile the ST-X’s previously standard sunroof is now an optional extra. The engine, a 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel with 140kW and 450Nm, remains unchanged.
Richard Emery, Managing Director and CEO of Nissan of Australia, said: “The Navara Series 2 offers an even more compelling mix of the features Australian one-tonne ute buyers are seeking.
“Since this model’s local release in 2015, our customers have applauded its real-world capabilities and strong performance and they have told us they like its great blend of styling, fuel efficiency, driving experience and value for money. And this updated version of the Navara, our most popular Nissan model in Australia, delivers more of what they’ve asked for.”
