Reports out of North America and Europe have flagged Nissan’s all-new GT-R will employ a hybrid drivetrain.
No specifics yet but Nissan’s executive vice president, Andy Palmer is quoted as saying all future cars will employ some form of electric power and this ‘hybridization’ will extend to the next generation GT-R. He added that – like other high-performance hybrids – electrical systems can fill gaps in the torque curve.
As we know, Nissan recently signed with F1 team Williams for future technology development, so let the speculation begin…
All we know for sure is the next-generation Nissan GT-R is slated for launch in 2015. And the ‘hybrid’ La Ferrari isn’t lacking in desire for high performance supercar fans.
