Special editions for everyone!
Nissan has announced that following the strong, fast sales of the Navara N-Sport last year, the N-Sport trim will soon be added to the 370Z sports car line, as well as the X-Trail and Pathfinder SUV families. Each limited to a number, the N-Sport special editions carry unique aesthetic upgrades that mark them out, which Nissan hopes is just what customers want.
“The Nissan N-Sport series has been popular with buyers int he past, so we have listened to a market that wants more, and offered N-Sport editions on a wider range of Nissan nameplates. We think the N-sport treatment on the 370Z, Pathfinder, and X-Trail will be popular.” — Stephen Lester, Managing Director, Nissan Australia
The 370Z N-Sport is a retake of the 1980 Datsun 280ZX ‘Black Gold’ model, which nearly four decades ago celebrated the Z’s 10th birthday. As such, you’ll find contrasting decals on the bonnet, roof, boot, and also down the bottom of the sides. You’ll also get black 18” alloys, and black gloss mirror caps.
Step inside and you’ll find a yellow/black colour scheme too. You’ll find yellow on the steering wheel, the knee pads, the gear lever, and even on the doors and dash. The seats (mercifully) are black fabric, but you’ll find yellow contrast stitching here too for extra retina-burning fun.
Just 50 Nissan 370Z N-Sport models will be available in either yellow, black, or white, with prices starting at $48,490 for the manual cars (in yellow) while automatic models command $50,990. An additional $550 will be asked for if you want the black or white paint.
If a sports car isn’t quite your thing, perhaps the Nissan X-Trail N-Sport will be more your bag. It’s back again, and continues to be based on the ST-L variant with the option of all-wheel drive, and comes with a smattering of blacked-out bits and bobs to mark it out as a special edition.
You’ll find 18” alloy wheels, mirror caps, side skills, and roof rails finished in gloss black, whereas the grille gets a dark-chrome treatment and bumper inserts front and rear get a “dark metallic” finish. Limited to 600 units, the X-Trail N-Sport starts at $39,250 for the 2WD and $41,250 for the all-wheel drive, and will be available in Ivory Pearl white, Brilliant Silver, Gun Metallic, and Diamond Black.
But if the X-Trail isn’t big enough, Nissan’s got you covered. The Pathfinder N-Sport is the biggest of the special trio, with enough room to fit 7 on board. The N-Sport treatment finds its way here onto a mid-range ST-L model (like the X-Trail), and so power is limited to just the front wheels.
However, as part of the $56,425 that a Pathfinder N-Sport will ask for, you do get black 20” alloys, and matching mirrors, grille, and bumper inserts. Even the roof rats and spoiler are black, to complete the murderous look. This is best achieved in Ivory Pearl, though Diamond Black and Gun Metallic are also on offer for the 250 units that are available.
All prices stated exclude necessary on-road costs, and the N-Sport models will be available to purchase by August 1st.
