Nissan has announced Ian Moreillon, a good friend of Car Showroom, will return to Australia on 2 November after four years working at the company’s head office in Japan.
But the details of Mr Moreillon’s new job de £ó£?£ò£é£e£?ion make for interesting reading: he has the task of driving four new model launches in the next 12 months.
The all-new Patrol and LEAF electric car were expected, but now comes news the Almera is coming (a compact sedan) and a new small car.
The latter is sure to be the new Tiida just launched in Japan, but re-badged as the Pulsar. Photos from Japan show a much bigger and more mainstream design for the Tiida replacement.
As for the Almera, this should not be confused with the previous mid-size vehicle sold by Nissan in Britain. The current Almera is a compact sedan (like the current Yaris sedan) which uses the Micra platform and is made at Nissan’s plant in Thailand.
Expect further news around the time of the Tokyo Motor Show in early December.
