Nissan Australia has not finalized local plans for the all-new Micra compact car launched at the Geneva Motor Show and scheduled for sale immediately in Thailand and Europe from November.
The new Micra has some intriguing specifications – not the least of them being its miniscule nine metre turning circle. There is also a ‘Parking Space Measurement’ device (PSM) to ease maneuvering into tight spots – it even has three skill levels (amateur, normal and expert).
European models also boast a drive computer offering real time fuel consumption data and satellite navigation.
Power comes from two 1.2-litre, three cylinder petrol engines. The naturally aspirated version delivers 59kW/108Nm while the supercharged model is good for 72kW/142Nm.
Drive is via a five-speed manual transmission or Nissan’s all-new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
With exhaust C02 emissions as low as 95g/km, the all-new Micra is a city car that’s right for the time.
The compact newcomer rides on Nissan’s new signature V-platform chassis and the company says it provides high standards of refinement and road-holding, but its compact dimensions maximize load space
