Having already garnered European and World Car Of The Year awards, Nissan’s all-electric LEAF has been honoured at home – named as Japanese Car Of The Year 2011-2012.
This is the first time the Japanese judges have awarded their prize to an electric vehicle.
“We have sold 20,000 Nissan LEAFs and also delivered on our promise of affordable, zero-emission mobility on a global scale. This award is as much a win for Nissan as it is for our customers,” enthused Nissan President Carlos Ghosn.
Locally Nissan Australia continues on-road testing and infrastructure development ahead of Australia launch for the LEAF next year.
