Subaru has provided a reasonably clear insight into the all-new Impreza in the form of a sleek concept car unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Featuring a minimal glasshouse, low roofline, wild wheel arch moulds and sharp-edged bumpers for enhanced aerodynamics, the Impreza concept is in no way a production car, but clearly shows the direction Subaru’s stylists are taking the all-wheel-drive mid-size sedan. The concept has a low, wide stance which we hope is carried–forward to the production Impreza.
And we would love to see production versions of the Subaru Impreza concept car’s 10-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside is a central dashboard with touch panel technology, further touch panels on the ‘D’-shaped sports steering wheel, and Subaru’s camera-based EyeSight collision avoidance system.
Power comes from the next generation of Subaru’s horizontally opposed Boxer engine – in this car, a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated version driving all four wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic.
Subaru fans have a lot to be happy about if this is the theme of the next Impreza.
