The German Ford Kuga is a Favourite mid-size SUV and the arrival of more powerful 110kW, 134kW and 176kW engines mean the Kuga has extended its performance advantage over Toyota’s RAV4.

In addition to the new powerplants, there has been a revision to the Ford Kuga lineup with a 2WD automatic version of the Ambiente model now available.

The 176kW/340Nm 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine adds to the appeal of the all-wheel-drive Ford Kuga Trend and Titanium models.
Ford will offer the 134kW/240Nm 1.5-litre EcoBoost powerplant in Ford Kuga entry grade Ambiente models (front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive) while the 110kW/240Nm 1.5-litre engine is exclusive to Ford Kuga front-wheel-drive Ambient models with the manual transmission.
“Our cutting-edge EcoBoost technology offers customers surprising levels of driveability, power and performance while still returning great fuel economy; that’s the power of EcoBoost,” explained Ford’s marketing chief Graeme Whickman. “The new, high-output 176kW EcoBoost engine compliments the outstanding driving dynamics the Ford Kuga is already widely known for.”
