Audi debuted its new A6 mid-size sedan in Melbourne ahead of local on-sale in spring.
The new seventh-generation Audi A6 will be offered with a choice of two petrol engines and turbo-diesel. Entry-level is the 150kW/280Nm, 2.8-litre petrol or there is a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 220kW/440Nm, while the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel is good for 180kW/500Nm.
All drive via Audi’s seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive and technical improvements have seen fuel consumption improved by up to 21 per cent compared t the outgoing A6.
While styling is evolutionary, the 4.92-metre Audi A6 looks maintains the halkmark high class, sporty looks which are the brand hallmark. More than 20 per cent of the body is now made from aluiminium and the newcomer tips the scales up to 80kgs lighter than its predecessor.
