Ford’s all-new ‘LW’ Focus small car range goes on-sale in August, boasting the same $21,990 entry-point as the current model. Except the new Focus changes model names in accordance with Ford’s current style so the entry-level becomes the ‘Ambiente’ and the range-topper is the ‘Titanium’.
Ford Focus is again available in hatchback and sedan versions and the new looks inside and out have certainly ramped-up the visual appeal.
Major new under the bonnet is Ford’s latest direct-injection, four-cylinder petrol engine delivering much better power and torque at 125kW/202Nm.
Ford Focus diesel buyers are again rewarded with Ford’s excellent 100kW/320Nm, 2.0-litre ‘Duratorq’ TDCi.
Car Showroom will put the all-new Ford Focus through its paces at next months media launch but already we know the good-looking new Focus boasts much better interior style and quality plus a range of high-tech options including adaptive cruise control.
