EcoBoost combines smaller capacity engines with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing to deliver optimized performance and fuel consumption.
Ford reckons EcoBoost technology delivers fuel consumption improvements of around 20 per-cent compared to larger capacity petrol engine delivering comparable performance.
Of course, Ford’s remarkable 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine – the International Engine Of The Year for three consecutive years – is an EcoBoost engine.
The German Ford Kuga is a Car Showroom Favourite mid-size SUV and Ford has confirmed the updated 2015 Kuga range will include EcoBoost engines delivering 110kW, 134kW and 176kW.
Ford’s Fiesta, Focus, Kuga, Mondeo and Falcon already offer EcoBoost engines.
