Still basking in the glory of an unprecedented first-up showing in V8 Supercar racing at last weekend’s Clipsal 500, Volvo has announced the updated 2014 S60 Polestar.
Headlining the changes, the six-cylinder T6 engine has received revised mapping, a new exhaust, new intercooler and larger turbocharger to lift output to 257kW/500Nm.
As well, the six-speed automatic transmission has received a Polestar upgrade for faster shifting and pleasingly now comes with paddle shifters (the lack of the latter was our only real complaint about the first S60 Polestar model).
Volvo says the latest version of the S60 Polestar will deliver zero to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds.
There are also some interior changes and a new Brembo brake package with six-piston calipers, 370mm ventilated floating discs high performance pads.
On the outside, wind-tunnel testing has developed some extra aero kit – front splitters and a new rear spoiler and diffuser.
The latest Volvo S60 Polestar goes on-sale next month.
