Volvo owners in Europe can now be notified via their mobile telephone if their vehicle is stolen or broken into.
That feature is just one of the benefits of a new phone App (iPhone or Android Smart Phone) launched by Volvo and available in 12 European countries.
Now, using their mobile phone, Volvo owners can access a map showing where their car is (and sound the horn/activate lights if needed), see if their doors are locked, start the heater so the car is warm when they arrive and access information in the car’s on-board computer (including Vehicle Identification Number).
“We design cars around people’s needs and lifestyle,” explained Volvo Cars CEO Stefan Jacoby. “It is only logical that you should feel in command of your vehicle also after you have parked it.”
