Mitsubishi has added a sports/luxury limited edition model to its handy Outlander lineup.
Outlander RX is priced at $38,475 and boasts some smart extra features, but only 500 are scheduled for production.
Based on the LS variant, the limited edition RX looks sporty with a new-design front bumper incorporating fog lights, 18-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, unique side and rear air dams, silver paint for the door handles and privacy glass.
Inside are unique leather seats with sports mesh trim, silver painted floor console panels, chrome interior door handles and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity.
The RX is only available in three paint colours – Black Mica, Cool Silver and White Pearl.
At Car Showroom we’re fans of the Outlander. We reckon it’s a smart package for family Crossover buyers – handily sized for the city environment but providing significant versatility and space inside.
Mitsubishi certainly knows a thing or two about SUVs and, with part-time all-wheel-drive, the Outlander can venture onto off-road tracks that are beyond many rival vehicles.
Power comes from Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre MIVEC engine, good for 125kW/220Nm and drive is via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
As usual from Mitsubishi, safety gets a big tick as well with standard dual SRS airbags, ABS anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Active Stability and Traction Control plus Hill Start Control.
