Interest for Australian compact car buyers on the Mitsubishi stand at next months Tokyo Motor Show with the unveiling of the Mirage2.
You can expect this new Mitsubishi compact, powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine, to be launched in Thailand in March next year and arrive Downunder a little later to battle with the likes of Suzuki Alto, Nissan Micra and Holden Barina Spark for compact car sales.
Shown as a five-door hatchback, the Mitsubishi Mirage looks aerodynamic (the company says it will deliver best-in-class fuel consumption in Japan).
The five-seat Mitsubishi Mirage measures 3710mm in overall length, 1665mm in width and stands 1490mm high.
Mitsubishi says the Mirage will feature fuel-saving auto start/stop and drive through a continuously variable (CVT) automatic transmission.
