Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced that the 2017 Outlander SUV will be receiving some notable active safety and connectivity features and will be on sale starting at $28,750 for the base LS with a manual transmission extending to the $47,500 for the range-topping Exceed.
All Exceed variants will now receive Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, and the Multi Around Monitor fitted as standard. In addition, the 2017 Outlander also sees the introduction of the mid-level LS Safety Pack model.
This adds more - you guessed it - safety features to the lower spec LS which is otherwise on par with the base model. Specifically, the Safety Pack adds Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, automatic high beam, and an electronic parking brake for all 4WD models. Of course, all Exceed variants gain these by default.
The new(er) Outlander also gains some minor interior updates as well as refinements to its dynamics. While the latter point is dealt by new shock valves, new rear toe link bushes, lower friction front struts, and new shock absorbers, the interior gains include LED cabin lighting, LED-lit centre console box, and a 12V socket in the rear cargo area.
In terms of in-cabin tech, however, buyers will be glad to know that more modern smartphone integration will be standard on all 2017 Outlanders via Mitsubishi’s Link Display Audio infotainment system with digital broadcast radio and support for Apple CarPlay.
