MINI has launched an Australian-exclusive 'Challenge Edition' of the sporty John Cooper Works model.
A derivative of the MINIs that compete in the national MINI Challenge race series, the 'Challenge Edition is good value, providing more than $7,000 worth of extra kit for only an additional $2,500.
The 'Challenge edition' is available with all new MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop, Clubman or Cabrio models.
Included in the kit are an aerodynamic package (front, rear and side aprons), a front spoiler, aluminium cross brace, an alcantera and carbon sports steering wheel, gearlever and handbrake lever.
The drivetrain remains unchanged with the twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6-litre engine delivering 155kW and 260Nm (280Nm in overboost) and driving through a close-ration six-speed manual transmission. Zero to 100km/h is covered in just 6.5 seconds.
Pricing is:
Hardtop $48,800
Clubman $51,300
Cabrio $56,900
