Mini says the extras tote up to around $5,000 but both the Paceman and Countryman start from $34,150 – that’s $1,650 less than the previous generation Paceman model and only $50 more than the previous generation Countryman.

Included in the new standard equipment are satellite navigation and Radio Mini Visual Boost multimedia system with a 6.5-inch screen, upgraded interior trims, new-look instrumentation and climate-control system, new LED front fog-lights with DRL function, updated wheel and paint options (including Piano Black customization), enhanced refinement levels, all-new All4 Offroad styling package for Cooper S All4 Countryman and Cooper SD All4 Countryman and a extra 5kW for the petrol engine in Cooper S Countryman and Paceman and Cooper S All4 Countryman.

The updates bring the Countryman and Paceman onto the same page as the updated Mini hatch which launched back in April.

And Mini isn’t done yet for 2014 with the first Mini five-door hatchback range due to arrive in November.
