Another month, another twist on the MINI concept – this time the new Paceman and Paceman S, three-door coupe versions using the compact SUV MINI Countryman platform.
The combination of the coupe styling with its sloping roof and the high-riding Countryman chassis gives the Paceman and Paceman S a brawny look – a contrast to the softer lines of the regular MINI lineup. You can order the MINI Paceman with a lowered sports suspension but it is exclusively a four-seater.
Both are powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine driving all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed Steptronic automatic and ALL4 permanent four0-wheel-drive. The Pacemen is good for 90kW/160Nm while the racier Paceman S gets a turbocharged version delivering 135kW/240Nm.
On the outside the MINI Pacemen S is distinguished by 17-inch alloy wheels and clear indicator light lenses. Inside the Paceman sports version gains stainless steel pedals.
Prices are:
MINI Cooper Paceman $35,900
MINI Cooper S Paceman $44,100
