Mini has continued the roll-out of its new lineup with the New York International Auto Show launch of the Countryman range which will go on-sale from July. Some 350,000 Mini Countrymen have been sold worldwide and in Europe, this model is one Mini’s biggest sellers with European buyers keen on its everyday practicality.
Mini says the all-new Countryman delivers sharper driving dynamics, improved fuel consumption and more performance from the zippy Cooper S variant.
The latest Mini Countryman adopts the new looks of its siblings – such as the new-design hexagonal radiator grille – and there’s updated versions of the Countryman’s unique elements like the protection plates.
There’s also new-design alloy wheels, new paint colours and new customization options for the roof colours, bonnet stripes and sports stripes. You can even get a Mini Countryman in high-gloss Piano Black (that would be easy to keep clean in winter!).
Inside, the Countryman also boasts its version of the all-new interiors – new looks, extra refinement, upscale quality. Of course the Countryman is larger than the normal Mini hatchback so you’ll find five seats (the rear on their own longitudinal slides for extra versatility).
As well, the rear seat split-folds 40:20:40, the backrests are tilt-adjustable and foldable and tis means the latest Mini Countryman can accommodate from 350-litres to 1,170-litres of luggage.
In Europe, the Mini Countryman will be offered in petrol or diesel, turbocharged or naturally aspirated, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with all-wheel-drive on the options list. The sporty Cooper S model enjoys a lift in output to 140kW.
