And it’s British Racing Green. We approve.
British luxury compact car marque Mini have announced that there’s going to be a new special edition for the 2019 model year, but this time we’ll reserve the cynicism to tap about what it is they’re trying to commemorate. It’s been no less than 60-years since the Mini became a thing, and so six decades later, we’ll now get specially-specified cars that are specially-coloured and carry lots of small touches that remind you that the Mini’s been around for so damned long.
All 500 models will be painted British Racing Green, with either a black or white roof & matching mirror caps. They’ll ride on uniquely-designed 17-inch alloys, and sport LED headlights, Union Jack taillights, bonnet stripes, and badging everywhere. If you don’t like green, you can option to have the car in either black, grey, silver or blue.
The cabin of the 60-Years edition is trimmed in dark brown leather, looking truly scrumptious, and set off by white contrast stitching and green piping. There’s also ambient lighting (which is customisable), embroidered headrests, and model-specific dash trims & steering wheel.
Mini Australia has not confirmed the 60-Years Edition for Australia, but we have reason to believe that it will be brought down here. If so, expect it to make landfall before the end of 2019, with more specifics on price & specification released closer towards the model’s introduction.
