MINI Completes John Cooper Works Range In Australia

It’s official – high-performance MINI fans can now snare a John Cooper Works (JCW) variant for every MINI type…but you’ll need north of $50,000.

The Crown Jewel in the MINI JCW range is the GP model – the fastest series production MINI model so far – an example of which lapped Germany’s Nurburgring circuit in 8 mins 23 secs. Of a worldwide production run of 2,000 MINI JCW GPs, only 55 have been secured for local sale to best to scarper to your nearest MINI dealer to secure this piece of automotive history.

 

MINI JCW GP runs a race-tuned 160kW version of the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, race-tuned suspension and brakes, unique traction control calibration with a ‘GP’ mode, a singular paint colour – ‘Thunder Grey’ metallic plus a unique aero kit with underbody paneling and a carbon rear wing. Inside are Recaro seats (leather-trimmed and heated) plus a knee roll to assist bracing when cornering hard.

But regardless of the variant, buyers of MINI JCW models are guaranteed the hallmark technology and features of this iconic high-performance compact – from sports-tuned suspension to the electromagnetic centre differential for all-wheel-drive models. 

 

You can add sports stripes and contrasting colours for the roof and exterior mirrors and – depending on the model -  17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interiors boast sports seats, high-gloss piano black highlights and the JCW sports steering wheel. A 10-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system is standard along with Bi-Xenon headlights.
