Strange things happen on 1 April. That’s the date MINI chose to reveal its latest model – a caravan and roof-top tent.
Sumptuously appointed in the BMW way, both are John Cooper Works red and both can sleep two.
Inside the Cowley caravan are two sleeping berths, a twin-burner gas stove, water tank and dish-washer, refrigerator, TV/DVD and audio system plus solar power for the battery (and a 230-violt connection).
The caravan, like the MINI, has desing cues back to the 1960s, but cleverly is just 12cms wider than a MINI and weighs under 300kgs.
We wonder what other great cars will be only April Fool's day?
