The Mercedes-Benz Viano looks set to maintain its pre-eminent position amongst German people movers with details emerging of a mid-life facelift.
Amongst the technical improvements - allowing all of Viano’s four and six-cylinder diesel and petrol engines to be EU 5 compliant - C02 emissions and fuel consumption figures drop by up to 15 per cent. Mercedes’ says the revised Viano range will return record low emissions and fuel-use figures.
‘Benz has applied its BlueEFFICIENCY technology to the Viano with improvements including ECO start/stop, on-demand activation of major systems and handy low rolling resistance tyres.
Ride comfort and driving dynamics will also be boosted as a result of significant changes for both front and rear suspension systems.
Inside, the new generation Viano gains even more luxury and practicality. The passenger compartment scores ambient fibro optic lighting and individual LED reading lights, there are new, more supportive seats, a new premium four-spoke steering wheel and a new, more user-friendly cockpit for the driver.
No word yet on local pricing, but you can bet Mercedes-Benz Australia will continue its current ‘First Choice’ value strategy to ensure Viano remains popular with both private and commercial buyers.
