Trims in red, black, white, orange, and grey. Refined by McLaren’s in-house designers. That’s what the British supercar maker is harping on, with newly released 570S ‘Design Edition’ special… editions.
There are five Design Edition models in total, each one featuring a unique combination of colours, wheels, materials and interiors, and they are all completely outfitted by using a variation of the ‘By McLaren’ personalisation packages that the brand currently offers.
Thus far, McLaren has only let us drool over the first iteration of the series, dubbed the Design Edition 1. The 1 comes with Vermillion Red, paired with five-spoke wheels with a diamond-cut finish, red brake callipers, and ‘Stealth’ black exhausts.
On the inside, the 570S Design Edition 1 gets a matching treatment, utilising an existing ‘Jet Black and Apex Red’ colour scheme. The seats are finished with red Nappa leather and black Alcantara, while the dash and steering wheel get a two-tone black-red leather treatment. And like icing on the cake, everything is stitched together with slate grey thread.
Should red not be your cup of tea, one of the other four colour schemes (those being black, white, grey, and orange) might take your fancy. And while the Design Edition models may derive from the joy of personalising your new McLaren to your hearts’ content, the savings that are on offer may soothe the brow. The Design Edition packages will save over $14,000 over picking the options one by one.
McLaren has already opened the order books for the Design Edition cars, with deliveries expected in 2017.
