Maserati’s fastest volume production car, the GranTurismo MC Stradale is heading to Australian Maserati dealerships.

The first Maserati with a top speed north of 300km/h – 301km/h to be precise – the MC Stadale is a modified version of the GranTurismo model with only two seats and power from a revised 4.7-litre V8 engine good for 331kW/510Nm (an extra 7kW/20Nm over the GranTurismo S).

In essence, the MC Stradale is race-bred, a road-going version of the Trofeo and GT4 race cars, but affords some of the luxury inclusions demanded by Maserati buyers.

Changes have reduced the weight by 110kgs – including the fitment of carbon fibre racing seats and interior trim materials, removal of some sound insulation and even two kilos has been pared from the wiring. There are also new front and rear bumpers, new front guards, bonnet and bootlid.

The driver-select driving mode gains a ‘Race’ setting which alters the gear change to a stiff manual, reduces shift changes to 60 milliseconds, sharpens the throttle response and opens the exhaust silencer.

Aerodynamic changes bring extra downforce – 25 per cent more at the front and 50 per cent more at the rear (at 200km/h). Suspension modifications include ride height reduction (10mm front, 12mm rear), eight per cent stiffer springs and a 5mm thicker front anti-rill bar.

Wheels are lightweight 20-inch alloys fitted with Pirelli P-zero Corse tyres.

Underneath, the MC Stradale is the first Maserati to run Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.

Stickered at $364,900 the Maserati MC Stradale goes on-sale in June.
