Wondering about the ‘style leader’ from the 2014 Geneva Motor Show debutants? Most experts have given the nod to Maserati’s magnificent Alfieri.
Sharing underpinnings with the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, the 2+2 Alfieri manages – as perhaps only the Italians can do – to blend the traditional styling cues of the brand into an all-new look which this time certainly ramps-up the sporty/aggressive department.
“The Alfieri is a transition point between 100 glorious years of history and the future that is opening up before us,” explained chief designer Lorenzo Ramaciotti. “I can’t honestly say that we’ll see this car in production in the next two years, but I’m certain we’ll see something very similar.”
Under the bonnet is the usual 343kW/520Nm 4.7-litre atmo V8 driving through the six-speed sequential automatic transmission.
