Lexus teases a new IS that’s headed to Beijing with words like “bold” and “desire”. Label us “curious”.
Lexus, in a somewhat unexpected turn, has chosen the 2016 Beijing Auto Show to unveil their new IS luxury sports sedan, the company revealed, teasing the car’s new front end design.
Examining the photo further, we notice that the grille design does seem to protrude further outwards than we remember it to. That, along with the altered front headlamp array, seem to make up the most of what Lexus is willing to reveal so far.
It won’t be an all-new IS, however, as the current third-generation model is still quite a recent addition to the world’s roads after making its entrance in 2013.
Lexus did disclose that the mid-cycle updated IS would feature “exciting breakthroughs” in their L-finesse design philosophy, calling it a “bold evolution” in design.
They also chose to emphasise the IS’ commendable handling and performance characteristics, so perhaps the reveal of a new IS F (their BMW M3 fighter) is also on the cards. The timing would certainly line up.
