Just 300 of these supposedly propositions.
Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus has introduced a special edition of its RX SUV, aimed at providing greater value and bridging the gap between the existing variants in the RX range. Creatively called the RX Crafted and limited to just 300 units, the special-edition car adds on must-have additions that are most lusted after in top-flight F-Sport cars, but for less.
The RX Crafted can be had in RX300, RX350, and RX450h guises, with no mechanical changes to be found. Building on ‘Luxury’ spec vehicles, the Crafted cars enjoy unique exterior flourishes like gloss-black finishings on its 20-inch alloys, grille, fog-lamp surrounds, door mirrors, and rear bumper valance.
“The additional luxury and value of the stylish Lexus RX Crafted will attract a larger audience to a vehicle noted for its practicality, convenience, spaciousness, and easy manoeuvrability.” — Scott Thompson, CEO, Lexus Australia
The cabin hasn’t been spared the Crafted treatment, either. All cars will gain things like a moonroof, as well as a colour heads-up display, an upgraded 12.3-inch high-definition infotainment screen, and a premium 15-speaker stereo from the boffins at Mark Levinson.
The RX Crafted will also benefit from the standard array of active safety kit, parked beneath the ‘Safety System+’ umbrella. You’ll find things like intelligent cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and reversing camera all as standard, as well as bi-beam LED headlights, automatic wipers, and 10 airbags.
Prices for the RX Crafted kick off at $81,351 for the RX300, rising to $88,521 for the RX350 and $97,260 for the RX450h, representing a $7100 hike over the RX Luxury variants. Still though, with the kit on offer, that price is more than justified, no?
