There’s very few arguments to be made against the Lexus LC500, a car adorned with beautiful details and a rolling showcase of the Japanese luxury marque’s most impressive technical aspects and engineering prowess. It will be a future classic.
With that in mind, the Inspiration Series will be even more sought after when the world realises just how special the LC500 is. Lexus is bringing the limited-production variant to the Monterey Car Week for a little show-off, where there are plenty of folk who can potentially reduce the 100 car run to sold out status.
Over the stand LC, the Inspiration Series wears a bespoke Nori Green Pearl paint finish with two-tone 21-inch wheels. Meanwhile, the interior gains Saddle Tan aniline leather seats as well as trim of dark Alcantara and Black Amber leather. Of course, to remind everyone that you’ve got the Inspiration Series, each car will be fitted with a custom sill plate, laser etched to match the limited edition.
Unfortunately, there are no mechanical changes to mention as the car is still the rear-wheel drive luxury GT we had prior, sporting one of the last naturally aspirated high performance motors on sale today. The 5.0-litre 2UR-GSE produces 351kW and 540Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Buyers will also soon have the option of having a roofless LC500 as Lexus announced the arrival of a drop top variant of their sports flagship, sporting the same engine and drivetrain package as the 500 and its hybrid sibling, the 500h.
