Here’s a story to bring a tear to the eye of Volkswagen enthusiasts – Volkswagen Brazil has announced the end of Kombi production with a final edition of 600 limited edition vehicles in classic white/blue two-tone paint.
The Kombi has been produced by Volkswagen in Brazil since 2 September 1957 making it the longest production model in automotive history.
Inside the 600 ’56 anos – Kombi Last Edition’ will run matching blue fabric curtains and blue vinyly seats for up to nine people.
The instrument cluster gets a blue treatment too and adheres to the traditional Kombi layout of a central speedometer and fuel gauge on the right.
Under the bonnet is the ethanol-fuelled 1.4-litre engine driving through a four-speed manual transmission.
Another classic bites the dust!
