Summer is just around the corner in England and this summer will see the launch of upgrades for Land Rover’s slick Freelander mid-size SUV.
First-up and being rolled-out at the Royal Windsor Horse Show is a new range-topping model called the Freelander ‘Metropolis’.
The newcomer builds on the previous Land Rover Freelander hero, the HSE, adding premium Windsor leather trim, 19-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation, electric seat adjustment (eight way for the driver, six way for the front seat passenger), gloss black interior highlights, a reversing camera, 825W Meridian audio, panoramic sunroof and xenon headlights with Land Rover’s signature LED DRLs.
Land Rover says June in England will see the 2015 Freelander debut new drivetrains (SD4 with auto transmission across the range and TD4 with manual transmission for models below the Metropolis) and a revised three-model lineup with the Metropolis replacing the HSE version at the top of the pecking order.
No word yet on Australian plans.
