The updated 2012 Land Rover defender goes on-sale in Britain in November
With a new 2.2-litre diesel engine – the cleanest ever offered by the oconic English brand.
EU5 compliant, the new, smaller engine replaces the previous 2.4-litre unit but delivers the same power and torque – 90kW at 3500rpm and 360Nm at 2000rpm.
Refinement has also been improved as the new 2.2-litre diesel runs a full acoustic engine cover.
Drive is still via the GFT MT 82 six-speed manual transmission.
Some changes inside – extra storage bins for driver and passenger and new seats bring an optional half leather trim for previously unheard of levels of luxury to the tough, go-anywhere Defender.
Land Rover Australia will announce Australian specification and pricing closer to launch.
