With production of the current generation winding-down, Land Rover has labeled 2015 as the year to celebrate the workhorse Defender model.
In Britain celebrations kicked-off with a fleet of six Land Rovers skillfully driven to create a unique 1.0kms sand drawing on the beach at Red Wharf Bay in Anglesey.
But more importantly land Rover has announced the debut of two limited edition Defender models – the ‘Heritage’ and ‘Adventure’ Editions.
Both are powered by the 2.2-litre diesel and are available for order.
Not unexpectedly, the Land Rover Defender ‘Heritage’ pays homage to this remarkable vehicle’s history and is painted in ‘Grasmere Green’ paintwork with white roof and unique grille.
The Land Rover Defender ‘Adventure’ comes with a leather-trimmed interior, extra underbody protection and Goodyear MT/R tyres for maximum off-road agility.
Both are scheduled in Australia in the autumn and Land Rover Australia will announce prices and detailed specifications then.
