We’re not sure why this car is warranted, but okay.
Korean marque Kia are preparing to reveal an all-new variant of its highly-popular (but locally-unavailable) Ceed family 5-door, which would raise the nameplate to lofty new levels.
If you couldn’t guess by those terrible attempts at humour, the Ceed variant we’re talking about will take the form of a crossover, with a higher ride-height, larger wheels, and the requisite amount of body-cladding for the demanded curb-side ability to boast about ‘living an active lifestyle.’
“There’s another style, another type of vehicle, that we feel very strongly deserve to be a new member of the Ceed family. It will play the role that’s needed to make the Ceed range stronger and even more exciting, more appealing, to European customers. The design will be like nothing you’ve seen in the Ceed family so far. This will be the next big surprise from Kia.” – Gregory Guillaume, Vice President (Design), Kia Europe
However, it’s been clarified that Kia Australia will not be bringing this Ceed-based crossover, widely-speculated to be called the XCeed, as there’s another car on the horizon for us. For the Asia-Pacific and North American markets, we’ll be getting the Kia ‘Tusker’ that’ll be based on the SP-Concept that was shown at the 2018 New Delhi motor show.
