Although it’s not part of the Australian line-up, Kia’s Cee’d hatchback is a top-seller in Europe so all eyes will turn to the Kia stand at the Geneva Motor Show when an all-new model makes its debut.
This time, Kia has ramped-up the sophistication of its C-segment star with a steeply-raked A-pillar, low front beltline, sweeping roof, wraparound headlights and large glasshouse. Kia says the newcomer is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor and delivers the same long wheelbase (for optimized interior space).
Kia’s five-door European hatchback also debuts the latest Peter Schreyer-inspired front grille and even a revised Kia badge design.
The rear look is also very dynamic with an integrated roof spoiler.
Inside, Kia has gone for an all-new wraparound aircraft-style cockpit which enhances the performance feel of the Cee’d and places all controls within easy reach of the driver. Material and trim choices are much better for enhanced quality perception and details like the one-piece door-openers add to the slick look.
